Then attach the strap to the buckle or ratchet and tighten until the straps are good and taut. Once you ve loaded the boat just lift the kayak or sup and the roof rack will retract with it. The easiest way to load a kayak onto a car is with two people. Place the first kayak on the roof rack.

Then it locks securely in place on top of the car. You can do this with a variety of tie down straps. Step 2 wrap one cam strap. You should always tie down the bow and stern of your kayak especially if you are going to transport your kayak without a roof rack.
